God Bless the U.S.A..

I am not the biggest political person, however recently I was asked about my party. I am actually firmly Republican. I do have some associations in my family with some parties that are not conservative. That does not impose on me because they are family. Due to my deep commitment to love and associations with family on both sides of the political line or even independent, I have constantly made sure not to mix family with politics. What I have decided to do is celebrate our victories with each ancestor, friend, relative or even foe. When I was little I often was questioning, "Are you a friend or a foe?" What I have now learned, through prayer and Christian studies, is just that whether or not, when we are giving charity, there will our heart be also. I always tell my children, I fight hard during elections and then after I always pray that our country will be in the hands of our blessed President, staff, cabinets, votes and bi-camperal addresses. What else do you do, for four years straight, hate? Please stop the hate. I can't take watching the news anymore. One of my favorite "Mormon" also "Christian" primary songs is highlighted below in the official church lyrics:

Follow the Prophet

35395, Children’s Songbook, Follow the Prophet, 110
Adam was a prophet, first one that we know.
In a place called Eden, he helped things to grow.
Adam served the Lord by following his ways.
We are his descendants in the latter days.

Enoch was a prophet; he taught what was good.
People in his city did just what they should.
When they were so righteous that there was no sin,
Heavenly Father took them up to live with him.

Noah was a prophet called to preach the word,
Tried to cry repentance, but nobody heard.
They were busy sinning—Noah preached in vain.
They wished they had listened when they saw the rain.
.
Abraham the prophet prayed to have a son,
So the Lord sent Isaac as the chosen one.
Isaac begat Jacob, known as Israel;
Jacob’s sons were twelve tribes, so the Bible tells.

Moses was a prophet sent to Israel.
He would lead them to the promised land to dwell.
They were slow to follow, or so it appears.
They were in the wilderness for forty years.

Samuel was a prophet chosen as a boy.
Hannah promised God her son would serve with joy.
In the tabernacle, Samuel heard his name;
He was called by God and answered, “Here I am!”

Jonah was a prophet, tried to run away,
But he later learned to listen and obey.
When we really try, the Lord won’t let us fail:
That’s what Jonah learned deep down inside the whale.

Daniel was a prophet. He refused to sin;
So the king threw Daniel in the lion’s den.
Angels calmed the lions, and the king soon saw
Daniel’s pow’r was great, for he obeyed God’s law.

Now we have a world where people are confused.
If you don’t believe it, go and watch the news.
We can get direction all along our way,
If we heed the prophets—follow what they say.

I don't like hate and I just profess over and over again that I do go to church and I do not ask church members or neighbors or family members to engulf themselves in my political view points (again I am the least studious person you will probably meet) or ask them to leave or sit there and hate. Please bring more peace to our world is my Christmas testament, after a long year of religion vs. politics in my family/political environment and/or more than that. God Bless AMERICA!! amen.

Every year since I was little my Gramma and Grampa from "Minnesota" (which is what I always said after Gramma and Grampa way back then) would send me a Victorian Christmas Card just for me, Christina. My grandparents seemed more interested in leading by example because they never said much about church, however I always got these. What they would do was pray all the time, go to church every time we visited (without us, as if they were going to work) and always talk about God. My mother chose to be an atheist, so she is the only one that left the family. I was always thankful she was more conservative than most people who did not believe in God. I asked her when I was little, "why don't you believe?" over and over again. Each time she said, "If there was a God then why does he let bad things happen?" I always felt bad after those conversations, however I held a very special prayer in my heart that said, "I will keep you in my heart God and Jesus because I know you are real." I didn't know what to do about church because we were often busy on the weekend going places which were even very spiritual to me since I am also Native. Often times, we were camping if the weather was just right or hiking or even flying airplanes ( a sessna I flew myself or giant remote control airplanes). My grandparents on the Canadian Border, did these things also, however they observed God as first. This Christmas season I want to thank them for not ever asking me to go to church with them growing up. It was special to me. They always respected my Mother's wishes, "no." And because of that I moved all the way up to Minnesota where I could be around something more than words can ever express, their deep devotion to the real truth of the savior. I was not excepted very easily by my Dad's family when I joined the Mormon church. It wasn't really about Mormon to me when I joined, instead, I saw a picture of the Last Supper. I remembered Gramma and Grampa all over again, they had a picture of the Last Supper in their home. It said, in the Mormon doctrine, we honor the first original church of Jesus the Christ. Although, some family members may say in my very Catholic family, it is Roman Catholic that was left as a remnant after Jesus died (it could never be the same) all I knew was, "this must be it for me," because it respected what my Grandparents were always observing (almost silently to respect my Mom) when Jesus Christ lived. They also believed in angels, which my grandmother also loved enough to send me a picture of her angel when I was born. I know this is true in the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost amen. Thank you Papa for your rich and intense heritage where ye have seen more and felt more, as you have shared with me when I chose it, than some of the very most special men and women in the gospel I have joined, have every shared or enjoyed even in the most special houses of the Lord. It's no joke, He died for everyone. I can't imagine the world with just our church, it's just not big enough. I love my Christian friends that are also Catholic and Mormon and all denominations. I respect all religions and I know with time more shall come as we learn and grow as a society.

I wrote this mostly for my son, to share my testimony since he is special and has taught me also with his testament of following Jesus and God all on his own. It's interesting what happens when you don't tell children what to do, and just let them watch. Thank you Papa and Gramma B.

My personal prayer:

Please America, be at peace... no wars, no contentions and no strifes that fit outside children living on the street, women being raped, bombs being hidden and people causing accidents because they can't get along.

Love, Christina

Side note: if you ever want to read a great book on what it may be like to have Catholic and Mormonism in your family you should read below:

 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6442636-catholic-roots-mormon-harvest

This book totally helped me. Although, I can't say I had roots because of the respect given to my Mom's preferences in order to see me and my sister growing up, when I became older I was able to find out more. I had already joined the Mormon church by that time, on my own, however my grandparents came down to go to the Mormon Easter Pageant and have even read about our church (The Book of Mormon) excerpts of it. My family in Arizona was very unkind about my conversion, however it was also just about all churches. I really am greatful for my grandparents, my somewhat political family (both parties) and all the diversity I have enjoyed in my life!! God bless!!
