Flashback... cheer

Cheerleading days as a kid (me)...

My cheer captain while I was in cheer was Aunt S. She was so awesome. She also took me over to her house for slumber parties since she had all boys for children she would explain. She would do my hair and make up or just spoil me on occasion. The woman in the last pic is Aunt S.. I'm so glad my parents were supportive of all my sports and talents growing up. Aunt S.'s boys were also on the football team we cheered for. So, we got to make huge banners to hold up for them to run through. One of my cousins even had to give me my first corsage at the end of the football season. We were also in the newspaper for undefeated as the Corn Huskers one year. It was fun. I also loved my cousins that were boys too. One of my favorite things to do was hang out with them too. They had cooler ideas sometimes, than my girl friends and cousins I felt like, I think. I especially was always playing with A. He would come up with cops and robbers games and fort games and tell about hunting stories he would do with other relatives. Also one play time with my boy cousin A I convinced him I figured out a really cool prank to play on the neightbors. We would go knock on the door and I had him or another cousin hide behind the bush behind the doorway. Then I had a flower pot and that I said would prove I am I dream of Jeanie to the neighbor. A  had to throw a toy or object under the flower pot really quickly from the bush when I told the neighbor who opened the door over to my flower pot I had just lifted to reveal nothing hiding underneath moments before. Cleverly with the throw and already demonstrating just before I have NOT one single object or toy around me, in my pockets or behind my back and I only need two seconds not even to show you next... a toy will appear under this clay pot. He was very patient, as his game of cops and robbers actually seemed much more fun looking back. The neighbor seemed annoyed also. And we had spent already countless hours, days and any times spent together randomly knocking on neighbor doors and hiding especially for this neighbor behind the front yard bush so we could see their reaction when no one was there. Yes, we were there... hiding. We called it phantom knocking or something like that. As we got older we ended up going to middle school and high school together and sometimes even hung out in the same groups somewhat or saw each other around. I also went to Aunt S. pool parties to hang out when we were teens too. So, it was so fun. loved it. I never had no brother my age or around as my brothers were born at least ten years later. I always secretly wished for a brother even as a small child. I wanted an older brother too, but A is one year younger. Anyways, maybe God gave me a cousin when I was younger to fulfill that promise somewhat? I'm  glad I had my son first as it was my deep desire for an older brother for my girls if I had girls that is. I was only 20 when I had my first kid, so this is all blended together as pretty much... growing up. I really love this family I was referencing though especailly because they were very Christian and openly talked about it (Aunt A. did). It helped me desire to find Jesus and who he is. But also cheerleading was fun. So, that is my flashback....
