Celebrating Catherine Clea Beach’s 12th birthday!!
Above are some of her greatest accomplishments this year!! She is such a talented young lady!! I am so grateful to have Katie in my life!! Thank you for choosing me to be your Mommy in heaven, God certainly blessed me when he gave you to me on my birthday, forever more my birthdays are the best ever!!
Katie
is so talented!! I had to show off her new talent this year, weaving!! She
spent countless hours at home weaving different shades of yarn to make pot
holders and decorations. She is very creative!! I loved seeing her facination
with different yarn colors and textures!!
I was able to teach in the art room
at her school this year and see/participate in some of the wonderful art work
at "R" Elementary, however this was one of my favorite pices from Katie
( the weaving). She also worked on portraits, pottery and charcoal drawings.
One of my favorite things about Catherine is that no matter what she is never
bored. She is always busy doing something quietly. She loves to read. Her
favorite book series this year is Warrior
Cats!! She has finished several of the series. She also loves to do art on
her own and can create wonderful full size (scaled) drawings of people and
fashion. She has a new love (other than Pokemon) which is playing video games.
This is the first year she has had a computer in our home for the girls (we
used to go to the library to play on the computer). She has, I admit, become
overly fascinated, so we have had to reduce computer time, however she has come
to love video games for the first time ever. Another fun skillset of Katie’s is
music!!! She is amazingly talented at playing music. She started lessons when
she was five and her teacher, Sister Brown, said she was very gifted musically.
She was able to play piano and violin in the past and this year decided on the
clarinet. She loved it so much that she has decided to sign up for band in
middle school, next year!!
I can’t believe she is already there!! I have
already teased her that I will look forward to signing up to sub some of her
classes (which she isn’t very excited about), however I know that she will have
a great year!! She has a love for having close friendships that include slumber
pizza and pop parties at home on the weekends. She is a fun girl to be around
and very occupied with music, art, reading, friendships and the computer. I
love having Katie our home!! She is a wonderful girl full of love and kindness.

One of
my favorite memories of Katie as a little girl was when she would call me, “Big
Mama.” She would look for me in the store or in public events and say, “Where’s
Big Mama?” I am not sure where she got this, as I had hoped I had at least lost
the baby weight I had gained while pregnant with her, however she insisted for
many years that I was the big Mama. As I see her with her little sister,
Abigail, I realize that she may have been referencing what she would later
become, a little mama. She will often tell me, “Mom can you play with Abby, I
have been playing with her all day to make her happy.” I often tell her, “Katie!
You don’t’ have to do that, however she insists that she needs to always make sure
her little sisiter is happy and to play with her.” I know that Abigail is so
lucky to have a sister that cares about her so much. I see them playing
throughout the day and often wonder if Katie is just doing that to try to let
her sister know how much she loves her!! I am greatful for Catherine Clea Beach
and know she will have a wonderful school year this year in middle school. It
will be fun to watch her grow up and become a teenager (fully) over the next
year. I love you Katie, thank you for being my little sweetheart, you always
will be to me!! Love, Mommy!!!:)
