Katie and I had our birthday celebrations at the Patrick cabin this year. We were so thankful to be able to celebrate our special day, June 11th for both of us, with people we love. Thanks Aunt Jana and Uncle Steve!!

Twenty-Six… Point two miles is a lot of pace. We were fledglings really, the five of us. Paula and Martin ran together as the only couple from our group. Georgia was up ahead the whole time, she ran two Iron-mans in the past and she can acclaim the prize of, “teaching,” our group of novice marathon runners. In fact she inspired it. Along with Georgia there was Emily, our dear Emily, Rachel and myself. We were friends from another sport I call charity or in other words we were a group of young adults in our 20’s serving in our local community through our church on various assignments. We enjoyed volunteering. Some of us were also part of a soccer team that we incorporated in the local neighborhood, do-gooder, scheme we all had going on. My sweet cousin and me (also a bff growing up). I am so thankful God gave me her as part of my family too.

She is gorgeous inside and out. So smart and also fun. I love you, A. Each side of my family has cousins that are part Native American and she is too. I love it! We are all the same amount just different tribes. Yay for us. I feel like I can relate so much easier with this special part of us to my cousins who are, but I love all my family too is also very true. I miss you, A. I am always here if you need me too, but you know that girl. :)

A Penny Saved The children and I are leaving to Phoenix at midnight. It is a balmy evening as I pack a few last things. Snow is beginning to fade into spring inlets where marshes grow. I often walk down the winding path towards our lake, just to make sure. “Yep, the water is flowing and little seedlings are sprouting in towards water rushing.” On these edacious meanderings outside, I search hopingly to find the first signs of life. Never mind that spring has already been ensued with our spring break trip already planned. I am more concerned with Minnesota sprout lings and their vague appearances in my driveway. Divorce is not martyrdom in case anyone is wondering. It is a continuation of things; of life. I conquer days with as much strength and happiness as I ever did; never-ending devices of a happy life.
