On Friday I went to Time Out for women with some friends from church. It was really a great day for a break for all of us fellow Mom's. This was a first for me to go to the event and I loved it!! There were some great artists there including, Sherry Call, Hillary Weeks and Jericho Road. And some speakers in between and I loved them all. It was great and I think pretty entertaining because I really didn't even think about Abigail (our 9 month old) the whole time.
Since the kids had Veteran's day off on Monday we decided to head up to North Scottsdale to see my Aunt's (Jana, Julie and Betsy) who were in town from Minnesota. I think they were enjoying their last chance at summer sun before heading back!! We had a fun time that went by super fast! We always love seeing our family and were glad for a chance to take some time to have some fun with our kiddos too!!
Farewell to summer swims, I think this was the last one for a while!!
And another favorite project... when it's not time out for fun... or at least not fun for the Beach kids (but lots of fun for Mom)...
Out with the old!!
What Mom doesn't like to get rid of old toys??
It is like music to my ears hearing each toy hit the D.I. basket!!
I had had enough of toys hanging out all day around the playroom and being drug around my house because my kids didn't want to play in their mess! So Mom had to get tough!! I brought in two laundry baskets and ordered them to get sorting! It literally took all day to sort through bins but they did it!! We labeled toy bins and sorted toys out (I actually enjoyed this part because part of me loves to organize even though you can't really tell in most of my closets and drawers!! But the desire is always really there, I love labels too. It just makes me happy.). I felt like we all had a very productive day for once. And the kids can actually fit in their playroom now. I also acted on an impulse and made a table for the kids out of an old desk my Mom had given me. We sawed off the legs and viola...a children's size table. So no more excuses for the Beach kids... if they want to play the toys better stay (in the playroom of course)!! Or at least one can always hope!!
